Pitiful turnout of bigots turning up to protest against drag queen story time in Honor Oak today. They were met with 500+ locals and storytime was a success!

No, I don't mean that (your last paragraph) - I'm absolutely on board with that for me and for my children.

I went with my kids last summer to a free, daytime event on the southbank, promoted to families as part of a weekend festival, at which a drag performer said they wanted to "teach children to open their minds, and open their legs"

They were subsequently banned from future performances at the NT, but that was only because there was a HUGE fuss and the media picked up on it.

I am aware, as a parent of pre-teen kids, that there are a lot of people out there who are extremely committed to trying to break down the boundaries and the safeguarding that has been belatedly set up once the full horrors of the 70s/80s have emerged.

And not all of that is 1-to-1, individual grooming - a lot of it is taking place at a cultural level. Kids in year 4 talking about being 'pansexual' and 'asexual' - they are 7 years old. Those concepts aren't meaningful to them, and shouldn't be brought into their lives at that age
