Children going to a 12-hour night shift in the United States, 1908

I honestly don’t see anything wrong with a kid going to school and getting a job. I was adopted and grew up on a farm, picked peaches from ages 13-14 to buy my first motorcycle at age 14 in cash and got my license. Adopted parent did not want me to have a motorcycle but I did it anyway. Best decision I ever made to be independent. Felt guilty asking for money. Didn’t start college till I was 30 in military. Did my AS/BS in professional aeronautics. Became licensed A&P mechanic with FCC license. Currently 46 years old and I’m going to be honest I don’t think I will ever know what I really want to do. But being able to actually work for something at a young age made me proud and I still have that 1980 200 twin star motorcycle and will never sell it.
