Considering moving to Alabama from NJ

If you rent, yeah, you’re gonna get screwed but that’s the same story everywhere. If people would quit buying up properties and renting them out for a massive profit, homes would be more affordable. It’s almost criminal.

I own a house that was worth around $111k when I bought it 5 years ago. My income is about 42k but my mortgage is only $650 (I was able to put down $20k). I live comfortably and I have 2 kids. I don’t need much and I shop for clothes at thrift stores. (I find awesome shit tho!!) I’m getting into mosaics this weekend. I also budget groceries. I get paid twice a month on the same days so it’s a bit easier.

(I have mentioned i have a boyfriend but he’s not helping me with bills right now because I’m letting him aggressively pay off his debts.)

If you get some house you can’t afford, or don’t know how to live within your means, you’ll struggle anywhere. That said, a LOT of Baldwin County is expense so I’m only speaking for Foley. There’s no way I could do this in Fairhope/SF/Daphne.
