Crazy how we’re still on this as historians in 2022

I mean... You should also take into account how much 1$ is. Like in Egypt a mere 400$ per month is a around 10,000 Egyptian pounds. That's around 2.5$ per hr. That's with 40 hrs a week work. But in reality it's 54 hrs and sometimes 62 "we got employees commiting suicide because of it". And that's what an american company pays in Egypt. Around 1.8-1.5$ per hr.

And that's for a relatively good country financially. Some countries you can "survive" on 10$ per week. Especially South asian countries.

That's why alot of countries like Saudi, Qatar use foreigners from them. But also UK, USA and germany do the same shit but are more discreet about it. So don't get fooled into thinking that only Qatar do this. Not defending Qatar here but hate how westerners take her as the scapegoat while Qatar being not even remotely bad compared to Saudi, USA or Germany in that matter.
