Acceptance statements

Not really what you asked for since this is self talk to work up the courage to do something, but I just came up with this the other day that really helped me and made me laugh.

I had just decided to do something but I was feeling nervous about actually doing it so I started audibly saying “You are NOT a chicken! You are not a CHICKEN! You can be a chicken on someone else’s time. But you will NOT be a chicken on YOUR time!”

I have no idea why I’d ever be a chicken on someone else’s time lol or why I’d be on someone else’s time at all. But I think psychologically it helped acknowledge that it was okay to be scared. And I find humor always helps me with difficult situations
