Is there an easier way to be reconsidered for a BofA PR?

App was declined last week. Reason: "Number, type, and/or balance of accounts with us and/or our affiliates"

Currently have a Platinum Honors relationship, though have withdrawn all brokerage account balances to zero and kept only $1.5k in checking at time of app. Willing to transfer some funds into checking to be reconsidered, though not sure how much is enough.

CSR said I can reapply which will result in another HP, or I can submit a request in writing and wait up to 30 days. Was hoping it would be just a transfer plus a phone call. Would appreciate any insight/suggestion from someone who has had a successful experience on reconsideration.
