in destiny 2 (didn't play outside the bnet beta until it moved to steam) I can follow moving targets (say crucible) more accurately with mouse, but for me it's comfortable using my dualshock 4. I accept that i won't as accurately track the undalayers as they zip around as a compromise. but the mouse for most people will just offer more precision, and that precision allows you to accurately aim a little faster too as most users are also pretty used to using a mouse and it's become second nature for anyone using a computer long enough. but try using a controller to control the mouse in windows, without aim assistance, and you will see the difference in precision and speed moving the cursor around. there are programs that let you do that, some have been around for quite a while. I used to do it with pgp (rip the maker) but other ones also let you and a couple were sold on steam I think. It's not the same, but a controller is sometimes still more comfortable for some people but you do suffer witht he speed and precision tracking moving targets on pads even with minor aim assistance (tighter aim sticking drives me nuts, and feels like it's on rails)
