Developed big toe pain from years of PF. Help!

I have the same thing on both feet along with what I believe to be PF. An MRI of the forefeet revealed Bone marrow edema in the sesamoids. Basically swollen bone marrow inside the sesamoid bones. They also call this a prelude to a stress fracture. No fracture was seen on MRI, Ultrasound or XRay.

It is possibly a Sesamoid issue. One thing that has helped me is KT taping the ball of my foot (google KT tape). It doesn’t stop the pain all the time but it reduces it and gives my foot a bit more support in the area. Hoka Bondi 7 are great shoes for Sesamoid conditions, they have helped me immensely and you can order them with an extra-wide toebox. Indoors I recommend Oofos recovery slides. It’s like walking on a cloud. I’ve suffered from this for 10 months now so I feel your pain quite literally.
