I'm pro gun control in that I think people should be able to buy non-military grade guns, after getting a proficiency/safety certification, for self defense, exactly like in the video. Your opinion, that the person being attacked, should've just accepted an ass beating is just so. fucking. dense. The victim followed proper protocol for the situation. He didn't just whip out the gun and shoot the attacker. He used it as a deterrent while backing away for a substantial amount of time. The attacker was too stupid (and probably BACK on drugs) to think about the situation HE was creating. The victim wanted no part of it, but the attacker persisted, WITH A GUN IN HIS FACE. He continued escalating, taking his shirt off and revealing his knife. If you're honestly saying that, if you were in this situation, then you'd have happily risked being stabbed to death by that OBVIOUSLY disturbed crazy person, you're just as much of a moron as the attacker. Any reasonable person would consider the situation, the time of day, and wasted efforts trying to defuse the attacker and understand that there's a VERY high probability that he would use the knife, ESPECIALLY if the attacker was on the losing end of the fight he started.

Godamn, Reddit, where do these couch commandos come from? Acting like their years of BattlefieldV prepared them for real life violent, life threatening situations? Take a legitimate self defense class, ffs. Crazy people aren't rational and pose a VERY REAL threat in these types of situations.
