Is a diagnosis really that important?

Yes. Being told you have it, isn’t the same as getting a proper diagnosis for it lol. Anyone can have symptoms for a disorder but that doesn’t guarantee anything. After all, your curiosity is wearing you out.

If you were my friend, I would tell you because you would have confirmation about your specific symptoms. This would help you understand yourself (self-awareness) about a part of you didn’t know/understand before. That can help you better yourself and improve the quality of your life. On the other side, the diagnosis can lead way for the more obvious like therapy and medication.

You didn’t manipulate him lol You only screwed yourself over by trying to control someone who was trying to help you. He doesn’t lose anything, you do. He just followed the rules like he was supposed to anyway.
