I did my student teaching in a 5th grade classroom. They frequently cussed out my cooperating teacher and each other. They cussed out admin and other adults, and never received a consequence. Not even 5 minutes into our SEL meeting, they were cussing each other out and initiating plans to beat other kids up. At recess, they would get into fights and bring the drama into the classroom, and the students tried to fight in the classroom as well. I have never seen kids so disrespectful and unkind. I worry about where they will end up in life if they continue acting like this. I see why teachers are leaving when kids are like this and parents and admin are not supportive.
