Does anyone here have a tumblrina family member? How do you deal with them?

It started before there was a TiA, before the term "SJW" was used. I thought it was a phase, I think we all did. Teenage girl making emo paintings, maybe one day she'll get an infinity tattoo on her wrist or some such other horseshit, that sort of safe-rebellion that you see all the time.

But I saw it worsen as this stuff got bigger in the media. People keep saying that this whole movement is small and you need to back away from TiA once in awhile to remind yourself, but those people don't get it. This is something that real people do, you just don't hang out in their circles but the circles are getting bigger.

She got more intense because she was able to surrounded herself with other people who glorified being broken and deranged. I think if you wanted to you could trace its origins back to Emo culture and that dark-hipster shit. And then you mix that in with the fact that they're allowed to be morally indignant at everything and voila, you have a personality.

That's all these people want, a lot of the time. I know it's what she wanted, and she would try to hide that from her friends but I know all of them too. Teenagers spend so long shopping around for personalities and "finding themselves" and more and more of them are settling on this. To be in these circles you need to basically reinvent your own past to make yourself seem abnormal.

The sad thing is, from the outside, you don't see how fucked up these people really are. I mean, you look at Ghazi and see the motley crew of sycophants, sexual deviants, narcissists, and maniacs that make up that place and you need to realize that it's actually a really good sample of what the rest of the movement is like. So many of these people are just fucking sick.
