I remember in the late 1990s, when Noel decided he couldn't be bothered to play the lead guitar in songs any more. So you had YEARS of Oasis concerts, where it was just him and Bonehead strumming along to every song, with nobody playing the lead guitar or solos..........

I don't really understand this point. Noel played lead guitar during the BHN tour (and was probably his best guitar work) which lasted until 1998. Bonehead then left Oasis in 1999 and was replaced with Gem Archer who mainly took over lead guitar with Noel moving to rhythm for many tracks.

There was never a period where no-one was playing lead or doing solos. I'm either misreading your point or your history is wobbly.
