The letter in the junkyard looks manipulated to me.
u/judicanti-responsura brought to my attention that the word 'last' is sensitive for the meaning of the letter. It has also these brackets which someone other than Rachel could have added in.
The redacted words could also be sensetive to the meaning of the letter.
Personally I have a feeling that this letter might be the reliable source Stella was referring to that confirms that Rachel and Jefferson had in fact sex. Stella might also be the manipulator since the camera in the first class-room cutscene seems to make a big deal about her blue pencil she drops.
