People who don't like LiS2 have either A) never been in a predicament where skin color matters or B) Don't have siblings. These are the two most common complaints I see with the game, that and it's a big departure from the main series. Maybe it's because this game doesn't try to hide the nasty bits of society from you, whereas with 1 and True Colors it kind of tiptoes between a slice of life and tragedy.

The exploitation of young workers, decisions between what's right and survival, the treatment of homeless youth, and trying to be a parent in an adult world. These things and more are shown front and center to you throughout the game. Most people can't relate to it or they just don't want to see it in their media.
