Fishing kayak for camping?

I am not a kayak owner, but I do camp outta my one man pontoon. I can carry a LOT as far as gear and creature comforts, but a kayak is going to be a bit more tricky. A fishing kayak I would think would be a great start. Just do a bit of planning and prep at home before you first start, primarily in where you will stow things, and how to. Bungee cords, and those NRS Straps are a must for me, basically allows you to snug things down in case you hit some turbulent water and/or wind. Also, invest in some dry bags for sure, even for the compartments that are labeled as "dry only", which I hear get wet anyways. A medium sized tarp and some rope can make a nice lean-to should you get blasted with rain. If its allowed, a small log quarter is nice to take for at least one night, gotta have some hot dogs over the campfire right? I skip on any large cooking items, and only take a small metal cup and small skillet. Just too much weight in my eyes to have more. Look into high protein food that's small (ie: protein bars, peanuts) to get you through the day, and a couple bigger meals for two nights dinner. Water, is a pain in the ass as its both heavy and bulky. I am getting a water bladder this year so I can pack stuff around it when its in storage. Plus, more room for when I am packing out should I need it for trash. The most important item, is your whisky. If yeah loose the whisky its game over man, so get a flask with a carabiner attachment for it.

Weight distribution is also important, but as I am unfamiliar with using a kayak I hope one of your buddies chimes in. The biggest headache for myself is my bedroll. Not super heavy, just bulky. I can carry food, two days water, a small cooler, bedroll, tackle, rods, and even a small propane grill should I wanna get fancy. Super fun way to camp! You can certainly find spots here and there that have little human contact, probably just other kayak campers step foot on 'em :)

Here is a video I found that should show yeah some good ideas but do watch others as well.
