GL probably told Abrams all about this

Best DerbySF r/DarthJarJar GL probably told Abrams all about this If you think about it logically... All this isn't speculation anymore it looks pretty real now. I think it's impossible Abrams didn't know about this regardless if he said he 'hated the character'.

I mean if you were GL and you sell your story your baby to someone it's possibly he told them his thoughts of where he wanted the story to go. I mean why withhold anything anymore right...

So after being told this he made them re watch TPM and recognizing all of what we have already before even making the deal so he must have been long aware of this for some time.

oninit16h9 The more I search my feelings the more I think DJJ was intended but will never be. I do hope I am wrong but I just don't see Disney taking that chance.

Best case scenario, IMO, is nothing is done to outright disprove DJJ in TFA so I can still enjoy the head cannon that is DJJ and enjoy the PT.

arctiquer8h2 Totally agree. Disney bought the franchise $4Bn, not out of love for the story and George Lucas' original vision, but purely for business reasons. Now, whatever list of "most hated movie characters" you take, Jar Jar is always in the top 3. So if you're a Disney exec, you can't reasonably take a chance at bringing him back given that you paid so much money for the franchise, and even if the original idea (Darth Jar Jar) had a lot of potential. We have to realize that this Darth Jar Jar movement is limited to maybe a few thousands fans. But the general public (the millions of people Disney count on for their ROI) has only heard of Jar Jar as being one of the worst movie characters of all time and might be skeptical about this "theory". I'd love to see Jar Jar back, but don't think it's going to happen, especially since George Lucas stated that Disney didn't follow his original ideas.
