The other top schools are private and more or less for rich people. This is a state school so profit shouldn’t be their agenda but rather making education affordable which they are failing intentionally at. I think fraud is happening. As I described in an earlier comment on another post. Stony gets state money so any changes or losses are accounted for by the state. Ex: cares act/fed wanted to give students refunds so they gave the money to stony and then stony gave us the money. They didn’t just force stony to take money out of their own wallet. If there was actual losses on “fixed costs” then the state would have given the school money to make up for it but they didn’t because there is no such thing. Stony is saying my overpriced shared $5k dorm room with roaches and leaking water costs them $5k weather ok there or not is total bullshit. They gonna steal the money and launder it out of the school into their families bank accounts.
