Due to the isowated nyatuwe of the compwex, and the wow suwvivaw wate of individuaws who come in contact with it, it is possibwe that SCP-1730 had been pweviouswy discuvwed but unwepowted.
SCP-1730 beaws identifying mawkings and contains documents to suppowt the cwaim that SCP-1730 was at onye point Foundation Sɪᴛᴇ-13, owiginyawwy wocated nyeaw Nyome, Awaska. This confwicts with cuwwent wecowds, which show that Sɪᴛᴇ-13 was a pwoject that, whiwe intended to be constwucted in Nyome, was scwapped fow the wawgew and mowe advanced Sɪᴛᴇ-19 and nyevew compweted.
