I understand it can be far worse. And I agree completely with your point about ideal breeders being few and far between.

My ultimate point is that the owner of the dogs in the gif doesn't deserve a free pass because it can get worse. Abuse is abuse. There are a lot of people who love their animals and think they treat them with love and care, but because of ignorance or cognitive dissonance they're unaware that they're abusing their animals. There are people who fight their dogs who love their dogs more than people and put more money into the food and care a single dog than anything they've ever owned - they're still pieces of shit for fighting dogs.
