In certain alt-right circles they look up their ancestry and try to gain oppression points.

My mom found out her family came from Poland and she's constantly bringing it up to talk about how bad polish people had it.

Literally anytime she sees anything about anti-black racism in America she brings it up.

The other day I heard her say "why do Jews get so much special attention? Most people don't even know those Jews that died in ww2 were mostly polish!"

Her entire identity at this point is her polish background. She unironically thinks she's been afforded oppression points because distant releatives came from Poland.

She's started calling them "her people." "my people are suffering" and all kinds of weird shit.
