I agree, there's a lot of contradictions. Family also says she took her car to the park (or a converted van they said she specifically bought for traveling) and her car was found left in the parking lot where the shuttle bus stops, but sheriff said she took a bus from Los Angeles to the park, so I'm not sure whom to believe.
Here is an interesting discussion about what she was seen wearing and carrying, people say it was totally inappropriate for an experienced hiker on a long hike. Even if she has supplies somewhere else, her clothes and shoes were more of a lounge type than real hiking type:
