How to prepare for Disability Pension interview?

I went through this process about a year ago and was successful in my application.

If this is your intial phone interview it should be a Job Capacity Assessment (JCA). If you pass that you'll then have a Disability Medical Assessment by a government doctor. Mine was over video call. You should have an e-letter setting out which it is. Check your app or MyGov for the corro. to confirm.

It is my understanding that the JCA is to determine whether you can work 15 hours per week. If it's determined that you cannot work those hours you are passed on to the medical assessment stage.

I would review the report you got from your psych. so that you understand what's been said about you and your condition.

You should also understand that to qualify you need to score at least 20 points on the impairment table that applies to you. In your case it should be Table 5. Mental Health. I have put links below for the guidlines to Table 5 and also Table 5 itself.

As Axel says don't sugar coat anything.

It's a hard stressful process. All the best.
