The parasite just can’t leave poor people alone. You are an interesting case. You spend your day making money from the desperate. You sit there comfortably with a full belly and a warm house and you threaten people who have nothing. You tell them if they don’t do what you want that there will be no dinner for them. Or medicine. Or birthday cake for their children. You look them in the eye and do this. Your clients are stressed. There is no money. The cost of everything is going up. You are employed to find them jobs and improve their life, and you don’t do that. You force them to jump through hoops, to use what little they have to do what you want so that your KPIs are met, and your comfort undisturbed. You hound them into suicide and despair and you do it day after day after day. You willingly participate in a system that is designed to break people physically and mentally. On some level you know what you are doing is an outrage and an abomination to society. You know that destroying peoples lives is wrong. That You are complicit in taking advantage of people who are the poorest in Australia, and you do it for money. It makes you feel bad, even if you wont admit it. It wears you down, every day, causing misery to everyone you meet. Grinding you down, making you treat them even worse.Then comes the disconnect. You decide you are a good person in a bad system. That none of this is your fault. You are simply just doing your job. To ease your guilt you come here and throw a few scraps at people to make you feel better. And people tell you you are nice. And helpful. And they like you. Then you go back to work and straight back to coercion. Like me or you are cut off. Do what I say or you are cut off. If you don’t like what I have to say go find your own job. It’s not my problem. And you go back to hounding people to despair and homelessness and hunger while all the while telling yourself you are a good person in a bad system. None of it is your fault. Then you get your wages, get some coffee and a cake, and relax and enjoy your day.
