How would you deal with/convince non-Californian liberals?

With this attitude, you are abandoning ship and forcing us to burn. Wanting what's best for California and not giving a fuck about people in other states. How do you justify that morally? Secession may benefit CA, but the other states will be in deep shit. So from the perspective of someone in another state, California needs to stay. Sure the country will be in shit for the next 4 years, but without CA, the country will continue being in deep shit for forever. California keeps the red states in check; without it America would be fucked even more. You and I both look at the interests of our states first. You want California secession, not caring about the aftermath to the USA. And I, as a non-CA liberal, fear what would happen to the USA after you guys abandon ship. So let's say California gains its freedom. But at what cost? To California, not much, but does it justify fucking up America's party electoral balance for forever, just because you can't stand the idiot in office for the next 4 years? The real moral question is whether the benefit for California really justifies the negative huge impact on America. You look for your own and I look for my own.

Also slavery isn't the reason why the Civil War was fought, so don't expect a nonviolent secession. The Civil War was fought to preserve the Union. Slavery was outlawed as a result because it was decided that it would be a barrier to maintaining the Union.
