The Vatican shared two important principles with Hitler's movement: anti-semitism and anti-communism.
Racial anti-semitism has absolutely nothing to do with religious opposition to Judaism and this was repeated over and over and over by the Pope. "Spiritually, we are all Semites." You can disagree with someone's religion without wanting to murder them over their ethnic group.
This is why Jewish Catholics like Edith Stein wound up gassed. It had nothing to do religion.
The Church's solution to communism was not murdering everybody who could be vaguely associated with any communist movement.

That is a complete and utter lie. What kind of "nothing" involves unequivocally condemning an ideology and conducting underground action to protect thousands of Jews conducted by the Pope? You know the Chief Rabbi of Rome converted to Catholicism because of this and Pope Pius XII is on track to be honored as a Righteous Among Nations? Oh, but what do the Jews know?
As far as government actions, Spain and Portugal were the only officially Catholic states in Europe and played no part in the Holocaust, especially Portugal, where Antonio Salazar was renowned for his hatred of Hitler. Franco also refused to cooperate with Hitler. Oh, but forget them, they were mean old "fascists", so they could not have possibly done any good.
And that isn't even touching on the popular Catholic resistance to Nazism, from the Catholic aristocrats who tried to assassinate Hitler to St. Maximilian Kolbe, who stuffed his convent to the bursting point with hidden Jews. The idea that Catholicism and Nazism had any alliance is a complete, bald-faced lie.
Pope Pius XII served as a diplomat for Pope Benedict XV during the Armenian Genocide. Pope Benedict XV promoted public protests of this event. And you know what happened? They were completely useless and only made the Turks double down in their effort to exterminate Armenians. But I know you know so much better about how to conduct diplomacy during genocide.

The Reichskonkordat was a self-defense measure against the Nazi government and it was broken immediately. You're seriously complaining that underdogs in a lose-lose situation tried to find a way out?
