Imperial Tournaments: Professional & Competitive

I'd like to offer my opinions on B&S as an eSport.

I think B&S has an immense amount of potential given the high skill caps and decent balance (relative to other eSports games) at level 50. This will wind a bit off-topic because there is nothing community organizers can do about it but there are some things I'd love to see changed to bring more people into the game and give it what it needs to compete with massive eSports game.

I think low levels should have arena tutorial around level 10, after that I think they should be able to use all their abilities in arena. (I'm playing around with this idea, just unlock all abilities, just unlock all talents to choose from, just unlock the most crucial pvp build, etc) so that players can get used to the arena format by fighting AI of each class. Once level 15 they should be able to enter the arena. Skills are the big thing that something needs to be done about. I propose unlocking the core pvp abilities for lower levels when they step into the arena. When they're in open world talent slot overflow will be grayed out and they can only use talents they've earned.

If we want B&S to be successful eSport, we have greatly decrease the barrier of entry to pvp and not pit level 15 with minimal skills against level 45s with all their skills. New players should be able to learn by playing new players, not by struggling to outplay someone in bronze because they only have a few abilities.

That's a reason many of my friends have quit. They wanted a ranked 1v1 pvp game and so they gave BNS a shot. But they hated the leveling, they played games at lvl15 and had some success but often didn't have skills that were absolutely necessary to counter the enemy. There should be low barrier to entry, comparable to the lvl30 grind on League (difference is, you're still playing League all the way up). PvP should give significantly more exp, at least for random matches. This should not be abusable if 15-45 cab be done in 15 hours fairly easily, I feel it is fair for a similar amount of pvp to get you to max. And this would be great for players who would feel less discouraged after having temporary arena-only access to certain spells.

Blizzard had an opportunity to make WoW a legitimate, profitable eSport but they chose not to go that direction, much to the dismay of their pvp community.

NCSoft could certainly create great pve and story, great ranked pvp, and develop an eSports scene at the same time.

There are various cash shop monetizations that I feel are very suboptimal and have scared my friends off. I won't talk too much about microtransactions but I have done a bit of researching and hypothesizing and have found ways that NC could reach that equilibrium of optimal profit and optimal customer reach & retention.
