I don’t understand why you’re getting downvoted. Albeit you are coming across a little homophobic. But you also make a valid point, here’s why.

In 2018 multiple recruits were fired after taking a picture with Tommy Robinson at a service station. The statement the army put forward is that the Army needs to remain apolitical in all aspects. A whirlwind ensued in the army, for myself I was on tour and lads were staging near-on mutinies left right and centre over this. This became known as #IAmSoldierX and was the first time I’d ever seen the army exposed about scandals happening post-Herrick (by Tommy Robinson)

So if we stay by the army’s viewpoint of being apolitical, the LGBT community is an extremely contentious issue especially with what seems an aggressive push by them to be included in absolutely all aspects with society (by this I mean things like making Rainbow Poppies, which outraged every squaddie I know).

So really, this picture shouldn’t exist. I have nothing against gays. But you can’t fire lads for taking a picture with a right wing UK figure and then have Royal Marines hold up an LGBT flag a year later. It’s hypocritical and unfair. And one could make the case that it’s perpetuating left wing political and social ideologies, while trying to hinder and quieten right wing ideologies within the military.

Which I will tell you for a fact now; nearly everyone in the army at least is right wing. Soldiers shouldn’t be political subjugated and then a picture like this is taken.
