Kingslingers – 2.06: ‘SALEM’S LOT (Part 6)

Hypothetically? Vell, if I vere a vampire (vhat a silly notion!) in the year tventy tventy one, I vould certainly not be caught undead stalking around some backvater village.

Despite Bram Stoker’s mischaracterization, modern technology vould be no hindrance to the lords of the night. In fact, if I (purely hypothetically of course) vere a vampire trying to find suitable victims these days, modern technology would be an invaluable tool.

I might, for example, seek out communties on the internet vhich might be particularly vulnerable to vampiric depredations.

‘But vhat kind of internet communities vould those be?’, you ask.

Vell, perhaps vhile scanning social media I vould stumble across a podcast that asks their listeners vhat it vould take for them to believe in vampires. And perhaps in the replies to that delightful quevstion I vould discover that the hosts and many of the listeners are rather skeptical thinkers; the types who say they could never, ever believe in vampires.

And upon finding this community of oh-so-rational, people, people who a vampire could sink their teeth into vithout them even accepting vhat vas happening vas real, much less resisting …, vell, I think such clever and imaginative minds as the Kingslingers’ community can fill in the blanks for themselves vhat a tech literate bloodsucker might do vith such information. Let’s just say that Stoker never dreamt that the Count might have been able to dox Mina.

Of course, it vas only a fun hypothetical. Just a fun hypothetical.
