Looking at this chart how does -4 mod 5 equal 1? Seems like it would be -4 which is what my calculator says too.

Out of everything anyone has said to me, this is the worst one. I can't make any heads or tails of it. It's like the things you are saying here are entirely random.

take -4 and add a multiple of 5

HUH?

what number from 0 to 4 is -37 mod 5?
What in the world is this?

well adding multiples of 5 doesn't change the value mod 5, by definition.

Can't make heads or tails of what this is supposed to mean.

35 is a close multiple of 5 so lets add that. ok now -2 mod 5 so still not between 0 and 4. add another 5, so it's 3.

Where in the world are you even getting these numbers? -37 then we've somehow jumped to 35 then we're suddenly saying -2 mod 5 and somehow the final answer is 3.

I can't follow you any more so I'm taking a break. Serious question are you making stuff up messing with me or trying to make me not understand further. That's the last thing I want to know from you and if you're not just messing with me, I'll look back over it in a few weeks and ask elsewhere to see if someone can explain.

Thanks.

I can't tell if people are messing with me.
