[META] Upcoming scene release schedule?

It's like "what's the lifecycle between the release group and me". :)

  • Step 1: The release group secures a film, doesn't matter what the quality type, from their supplier.
  • Step 2: The release group designates an encoder to do their work
  • Step 2a: Simultaneously, another member (or the encoder themselves) starts to create the NFO with the typical settings that are used, and information about the release
  • Step 4: The release group drops the newly encoded movie, nfo, and sample on to a top site (a very fast ftp site) using the command /PRE (which is what is being referenced above); and waaaay back when I gave a shit about this, a bot in an IRC channel (usually called a pre-bot, amazingly enough) would then spit that information out in the chatroom
  • Step 4a: isonews used to have a bot in every damn top site / group main channel, and grab this information and post it online for everyone - it's not the site it once was
  • Step 5: A courier (a person who gets download credit on said top sites by transferring valuable warez from one site to another) or more than likely multiple couriers then start racing the file via FXP from one top site to the next. The one who wins gets all the credit, the others get mad because they get no credit and wasted credit on their home site
  • Step 6: People download the shit out of said film from the various top sites that they have access to
  • Step 7: Groups like UTR, Shaanig, etc. download these films in their purest form, and then re-encode them in to better sizeable files, and release them all over the net in .torrent files. At the same time, other people that like to share are also making .torrent files of the real scene releases and sharing them all over the place

One of the things you have to keep in mind is that the majority of what us "everyday folks" see is OLD in scene terms, and is probably not the original release.

Anyway, long story short - the site shows you (supposedly) up to the minute releases to the scene.

Hope that helps.
