(Meta) What are the demographics of this sub like?

"ike the ones where someone is inplicating a supposed friend, but qualifies it by saying 'yeah I was a little like that too, but not even half as bad and I stopped a loooong time ago, so I'm clearly superior and not one of THEM. I honestly don't even know why we're still friends lol'. When I see something like that, I feel like there's an injustice being done; to me that seems hypocritical and pretty cold."

This site, if you boil it down, amounts to shaming and bullying weeaboos in a lightly affectionate manner in an indirect aggression kind of way. I'm personally down with that, I think it's funny and good catharsis with very few negative consequences, but I think there's definetly a line.

But if you used to be a weeb, or are still friends with many, how could you just turn around and publicly shame them like that? It's not like you don&5 understand or even sympathize with the behavior, you used to do it yourself! It just seems especially cruel, even more so when the person posting us still 'friends' with the target of the tale.

Concern troll #3

I'm not advocating any nanny safe space 'stop the cyber-bullying!' Kinda thing here; I do love reading weeb tales, even if it's pretty mean-spirited. It's kind of an asshole thing to do but I think that's okay in moderation.

Concern troll #4

I think those who are ex-weebs themselves should stop and think if they really have the moral liberty to post what they're about to post. It's just pretty dirty to immediately turn around and make fun of people you used to be like or hang out with just because you're embarrassed by them now. I'm not going to ask anyone to stop...

Concern troll #5

From Google: "A concern troll is a person who participates in a debate posing as an actual or potential ally who simply has some concerns they need answered before they will ally themselves with a cause. In reality they are a critic."

Lots of us like anime. Lots of us engage in anime-related hobbies. And yes, some of us are likely former cringe-level weeaboos. That doesn't make any of us worse people for coming here and telling the stories about super-cringy shit.
