Modernist Vs Classical from his POV

This broken mindset seems to pervade most industries. I build hardwood furniture that will potentially last 1000 years, but not many people think about furniture as investments or heirlooms anymore, and instead busy their minds with thoughts of green upcyclers using pallet wood (which is fumigated with noxious chemicals) or random urban timber that is often used in bad projects. There is plenty of room to talk about sustainable practices in the hardwood limber industry without sacrificing craft and longevity to the gods of pine, plastic and veneer.

Cheap furniture is great when you need it (I have plenty), but these days the expensive stuff is just awful production line crap that won't last a single lifetime.
