Im aware of all this including that great post (which of course I recently re-read to check myself). but it has literally nothing to do with Moloch in the pagan perspective. I'm purely commenting on the context of this thread called "Moloch is the Devil"

Moloch was a god of fertility and plenty. Not a devil or demon. Its just an Abrahamic metaphor. The brilliant post only makes sense if you accept this metaphor as truth or at least useful.

Kind of insulting to pagans, and a useless glorified mental shortcut if you ask me. If it helps folks understand malthusian traps and the like, why not I suppose. But Moloch is not the devil in either context.
