My copay on this bottle of eye drops is $303/month until I reach my deductible. Then it is $80/month.

I’m not on government assistance. I’m currently on short term disability from my employer. I’m not a bot either! I’m a sick Canadian who can’t afford my expensive, necessary prescription. Even though I’ve got some prescriptions covered by my work insurance, the one I need the most is $170 monthly. My provincial healthcare has a deductible that is stupidly high and I won’t even reach it. People think being Canadian means free healthcare and free prescriptions but that just isn’t true. I’ve been a federal employee for the past twenty years and I’m now finding myself so sick that I can’t work and my stdp insurance only pays a percentage of my regular income, so I’m kinda screwed. I’m not a republican either, I’m just a normal person who got screwed by an unexpected serious illness.
