Negative behavior from well known player makes new players want to quit.

Are you a flamer urself? I don't get how you keep arguing against that negative typing is something you should be punished for, muted or not?

"I would argue that negative typing is the RESULT of the negative attitude that already exists." But the negative attitude is not for the whole team, it's only from the flamer who it already exists too. A constant negative behavior/attitude from a person is not normal and is also something you can get help for. People don't want to work/cooperate with negative attitude people, it gets boring and not productive in the long term. Therefore, blaming it on a negative attitude that already exists is not a valid reason. Remember Strife's marketing video during the early days of Strife? I'm referring to the quote "Life is toxic. Your MOBA shouldn't be."

"And just because a lot of typing "can lead to" feeding and throwing doesn't mean it will. They haven't fed and thrown the game until they are ACTUALLY feeding and throwing. Banning someone because they have the potential to feed and throw would be silly because that applies to everyone." You could also argue against people being reported for feeding, but the real reason is just that they're new? Or maybe even throwing because they did a simple mistake which is human? Is it work risking negative factors such as feeding and throwing to name a few to accept people being keyboard warriors when the whole MOBA scene needs to work against it?

"We are playing a video game online so there is a 100% chance that we will encounter ragers and people behaving like children. How you choose to respond to these people can have a large impact on the result of your game." You don't need to respond to these kind of people and you shouldn't feed the trolls. Keep playing ur own game, the fact is that the flaming person are having a big impact on the outcome of the game, remember it's a 5v5 MOBA!
