New to Reddit, but not Mark

I think your connection to the music shouldn't have a bearing on your perception of the artist as an individual --- though, I have wondered at the abysmall fall in Mark's work, from the breathtaking beauty of Admiral Fell Promises to the obvious bad art that is Benji and beyond (I don't care what Pitchfork says.) And I wonder when he started raping those women and if that's how he lost the melody.

I try to consume art at a distance, even art I love. Maybe because I am an artist myself. This keeps me from feeling any type of contradictions about Mark's art. People abstract parts of themselves out to pursue a craft. Any cursory glance at the lyrical work on Benji shows unexplored and unaddressed issues.

Admiral Fell Promises is singular. Ghosts and Red House Painters are influences on me as well. I have spent many solitary drives getting lost in his landscapes.
