It's because of how F1 is marketed ngl. It feels so weird to say how F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and how the best drivers race there when you either have rich kid babies shitting in cars or the drivers mostly not mattering because they're in a bad car.

Because in the end, F1 is an engineering competition, not a racing competition anyway, so why don't we just treat it as an engineering competition with a bit of racing than expecting it to be purely about racing then crying because Lando is languishing in the McLaren? That's what most people don't understand when they watch F1. It was never about the drivers, it's just about the car and engineering. When you look at F1 for what it actually is, you'll probably have more fun along the way.
