theres people complaining about the names and designs on twitter, but personally i like them. the original paper mario had names like goombario, bombette, kooper. ttyd had ms. mows, bobbery, koops and goombella. paper mario has a history of boring names/ on the nose names, so i dont really find the names as an issue.

bobbys backstory seems really fun and im sure he'll have great dialogue. professor toad seems like a nutcase with his interaction with olivia in the trailer and i dig it. kamek seems okay, but the fact they introduced them with "a penchant for cleaning" makes me think hes gonna have a perfectionist personality and probably geeky.

and then theres bowser jr, which is bowser jr.

all in all i think its a whole lot like the first 2 games. i also wouldnt be surprised if they didnt show all the companions, but at the same time im not holding my breath for more. id be totally okay with these 3-4 characters.
