I think the Brogue Wiki page for the Ring of Wisdom (RoW) could be improved. At present it suggests (in brief) that it is generally better to enchant your ring of wisdom than any single staff. Suggests that to maximize the recharge rate of a single staff, you should enchant your staff to level 4, and use the rest of your enchants on your ring of wisdom. And that if you have multiple staffs and are trying to maximize the recharge rate per turn of all of the staves combined, you should use all of your enchants on your ring of wisdom.

I see the RoW as a very powerful item, but think a better approach is to first enchant the primary staff to a level that is high enough to effectively deal with challenges at the early levels (typically lvl 6). Then put enchants into the ring, to increase the recharge rate. And at later levels continue to enchant the primary staff to maintain its level of effectiveness.

  A while this is helpful a more practical thing to know is how many turns need to pass to regain a single charge on a staff with a given combination of enchants on the staff and ring.
