Recent additions (since I last posted this):

user accounts:

  • users may sign up for an account without the need for email verification (although verification will, in the future, open up more account privileges and features in the future, still working that out). Users may still post anonymously (its encouraged that you do), however, anonymous posting from users without accounts (as well as post voting, spam reporting, etc.) has been removed.

user profiles:

  • /u/(username) example / features threads made by the user (that weren't made anonymously), thread and comment count, total points, how long they've been a member, how long ago they were active, any trophies they have accumulated, and any public collections they have curated.

collections:

  • Collections are groups of threads that are stored into an overall collection. example. Threads can be placed into collections from any board and can be browsed from their central location URL. users may create as many as they want, and place whatever they want into them. All collections are technically public, however, collections marked as private won't show up on the user's profile and won't show up on the homepage (under recently created collections).

Here's an example of how adding threads to collections works The collection name will be in red if it's in a collection, and greyed out if not. Simply click on the name of the collection to add. Click on a red one to remove.

location tagging

  • US cities/states only (atm). have a piece of news that may only be relevant to your local area? you can tag its location. want to see news from your state? you can do that. Each state can then be subdivided into each board ( example - videos from Florida).

notifications

  • whenever someone replies to a thread you've created, you will be notified of it with relevant information for the reply (like reddit does when people reply to your threads).

history

  • when you view a thread for the first time, it gets added to your history. You can view links to your last 50 visited threads from your settings page.
