By not over feeding and feeding more often. With run off every time I believe plants thrive better than force feeding them or using poor watering techniques, or a schedule that leaves your soil or medium eith less than ideal or unbalanced levels of nutrients and moisture available.

It’s finding a balance between your environment and every other factor like temp, humidity, light intensity, and and dialing it all in to work together.

For example:

Of course a 5 gallon smart pot is going to give you bigger roots than a 3 gallon,

But the trade off of a slower drying cycle not only means you will be less able to maintain a consistent level of moisture and nutrient available for your plant but that you will also be slowing down the processes by which a plant grows being outside of the optimal ranges more.

So the trade off, of using a 3 gallon which dries quicker and allows you to create more balance in the stasis of your medium isn’t really a net loss or negative even though theoretically it seems like it would be.

It’s the balance of finding those little things like that that work individually for your own environment and parameters that help take every grow to their potential.

It’s more of an overall view and approach than single little things but that’s the most important thing I can’t think of that I’ve learned to make plants perform at their given natural potential.
