Taxes help, but they aren't a complete solution unless they grow exponentially.

I had the idea for another solution which would take the form of a law rather than taxation which would force a redistribution of wealth through companies as a whole, but it might not work so well for the middle class. The idea is that the highest earning person in a company should not be legally allowed to make more than some ratio of their lowest paid employee. So for example, if your lowest paid workers earn 20k and the ratio is set to 1:10, the most you could make as a CEO would be 200k. This would force employers to raise the wages of every single one of their employees if they wanted to earn more money.
