For the vast majority of whales, it's people who want to skip the "grind" and just get shit early. Personally, I view the grind as an artificial gate, meant to make you feel like some digital content is exclusive, when really it's just junk. On a deeper level, it appeals to a human instinct to expedite the process of hoarding more shit, which was necessary for survival for cavemen living off of berries and wild animals. We still have that instinct because evolution takes a long time, and companies found a way to exploit these attributes to make us spend more money. If you ever want to get someone over their gaming addiction, just install cheats and give them every item in the game. They'll get bored and move on.
