Smoked 3 days before a surgery

No you are fine. Anesthesiologist worry if you are a chronic smoker or come to the surgical center high. Don't do those things. When you are there if you are getting general which is most likely for such a surgery you will wait in a preop area where you will meet your anesthesiologist and anesthesia nurse they will say blah blah blah ever had anesthesia before any problems. any heart lung kidney disease? any heart attack stroke of seizure? Then they will give you rubinal (gylcoprolate) a drug to make you less spitty, versed (midazalam) a drug to calm you down and induce amnesia, and maybe a touch of fentanyl to also calm you down. In the operating room it will be very cold. You will move onto a small bed. Lots of hands will be on you to set up monitors and you will be asleep before you know it. You might feel a burning in your IV but it wont last long and you might wake up with a sore throat but it doesn't usually last more than a day. You will wake up in another room pain free. You're PHYSICIAN anesthesiologist will tell you all this again.
