US State Dept asks [Poland] about the constitutional court reform

I don't see Israel that and I was born to a US military couple on an overseas installation.

That's great, but I'm speaking in generalities. That you don't conform to it doesn't disprove it. I don't see Israel that way either, especially under Netanyahu, but that's how Israel is seen.

I think you're overselling the degree to which the American people have sympathy for Israel.

You're underselling it quite a bit. Find as many polls as you like from any year, and somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of Americans have a favorable view of Israel. Here's one.

A sizable contingent of which are freakish evangelicals who believe it necessary for the Jews to secure their homeland for Jesus to return, in turn wiping out a majority of the Jews.

These people exist but if anything's being oversold its how large a portion these people make up in the US public's broad support for Israel.

You don't have to preemptively defend a position predicated upon nationality. When something goes wrong, who get's called upon? Well, that answers the question.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

I have no idea how you could relate the histories of America with that of Israel. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Israel, but the two countries are quite different...

I just explained it.

In the Cold War the USSR backed Arab nations run by Arab Socialist leaders, the United States backed Israel. They were US allies in the struggle against the USSR, its one of the main reasons the US and South Korea have built such a long lasting relationship too. Then as international terrorism began its rise, the US and Israel did and do see themselves on the same page in that struggle too.

The two countries have a history over the last 65 years of an alliance in international affairs which has lead to a close relationship, and when most Americans take an interest in its role as world leader, that trickles down to the public too. These people notice when a country is "with us."

I'm not sure what you're taking issue with here.
