Most Turks don't want freedom of speech that they disapprove. Freedom of speech means religious bigots can say whatever they want against Ataturk and Kemalists/nationalists will want them punished (there's a law ). It also means kemalists can mock religion and religious people will want them punished. It means Kurds can say whatever they want (like they want Ocalan out of prison) and wave Kurdistan flag and all Turks will want them punished.

In addition, individual Turks tend to sue each other for online insults.

Turkey has a long way to go before getting that freedom of speech.
