I Swear To God, This Game Helped Me Conquer My Writer's Block

"The First One isn't the only one spawning all of them. There are probably a dozen or so lieutenants left since the fall of..." Dornir trails off a moment, and between powerful breaths and huge lunges over the terrain they hike over, he shares some of his story.

"I'm not from here originally. You probably noticed I talk a little more proper. I'm young enough for my parents to be alive. Well they're not. My city is a pisshole-carcass full of those bastards. I was too young. Oh, but I stabbed one good in the side of his stomach when I saw him standing over my mother. He got me worse, of course, but Lorwyck's men came in time to save me, at least."

"Gods man. No wonder you wanted some of those eyes as trophies. Not much to live for after that. I'm sorry..."

The two of them are quiet, just their breaths puncturing the air and the rustling of leaves. But even with all of that, we can still sense the silence as they think to themselves for the moment. V'uhldo is the first to speak again.

"Shivia... We failed her too, mate." V'uhldo's voice softened. "I liked her. She smelled like the flowers in my village. She was kind to the animals and children. She liked to sing for me when she tended my wounds." He laughed a moment, "She kissed me once. I cared for her. I've damn-near died a few dozen times in my life from blood loss and whatnot but I was a God with her at my side. She was my Goddess, too. I never told her."

Dornir spoke a little softer, as well, "I'm sorry. She was kind. She beat me three times when we played Fyued and she wouldn't take my cards even when I sort of begged her." Dornir looked over at V'uhldo and grinned, "Sweet girl. V'uhl...was it quick?"

"I don't know mate. Only Zighe saw, and he never spoke about it to me. I got him to talk just before we came here, actually." V'uhldo curses at the air as he continues, "That fhookin' pixie saved my arse, and I'll ever done is insult him, and give him hell. He's definitely a fancy little fhooker when he fights. I figured the goblins would've taken him out faster than Shivia. She had real iron armor, and she swung a mace I don't expect I'd shrug off if she meant it, when she swung."

"I saw the gashes on the back of your neck when you ran ahead of me. Was Zighe injured when he left?"

"I'm not sure mate. But, now that I think about, I'm not sure any of them could get close enough."

The two warriors walks in silence a moment, then V'uhldo stops, once more.

"Dornir, how many arrows did he actually have?"
