Those who lost someone or are the affected, have you been diagnosed?

I've been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder. My little brother, who committed suicide, never had the means to meet with someone professionally and be diagnosed. He was always quiet and kept his thoughts to himself, but when he opened up, I never felt the pain he felt. I don't know what he'd be diagnosed with. He had an alcoholic, mentally abusive father and an alcoholic mother who was mentally unstable. He spent 22 years of his life as the much younger brother isolated in that environment. His father telling him how inadequate he was, and not having a support system around him to make him feel otherwise. My brothers and I were much older and not around him as he grew up and we were each growing up as people ourselves and didn't have the foresight to offer him encouragement and help.
