The timing of the murder, and the role of chance

Thank you! This is perfect. I'm not convinced Steven is guilty just not guilty (not innocent). I think the Averys/Dasseys/Taydak (from here on Averys et al) were all involved. I'm not saying Steven did it but he was involved. I believe Brendan was an accessory after the fact.

The Averys et al planted the car on the property as a "what who me?" Strategy. They left Teresa's bones in the gravel pit. That's why they didn't burn her in in the smelter. Might leave evidence. I think this was all Stevens idea. He had 18 years in prison - what an education. Plus he's street smart not book smart. We've only seen nice Steven.

Mike h and Ryan found the car first without permission to search and informed the police. Police told them to shut up and let them take over.

The police planted the bones, blood, key and bullet (although I'm wondering if one of the Averys planted the bullet did this), to ensure conviction.

For the Averys they got to get rid of Steven because he was lording over him. Why would they do this when he might be coming into money? These are not bright people. They are emotional thinkers with no emotional intelligence. Plus it kept the heat off them.

For the cops, This was an opportunity of chance that fell in their laps. It killed two birds with one stone, crime solved and no lawsuit. Plus once Brendan started with his cockamamie stories they were able to guide what evidence they needed to find.

Anyway just my guess. I may be wrong. I read some of the police interviews and testimony. It struck me that all of the Averys et al kept changing their stories. You can say that it's coercerion, but the truth is this truth -- why do their stories change?

Too bad the cops did not investigate properly now we will never know. I think Steven and Brendan are not guilty due to the faulty investigation and trial.
